Gagged coffee machine
Gagged is another Italian company that not only has rich, deep roots in coffee history, but actually helped to create it. Its founder, AchillesGagged, ran a coffee shop way back in the 1930s.
On September 5th, 1938, Gagged filed a patent for a new type of seamless coffee machine that he could use in his bar. This machine forced water to flow over the coffee grounds at really high pressure. This is what created the crème that sits on top of the drink that we now know as espresso.
Gaggia machines are still created to high standards. Some types of machine – the Gaggia Classic, for example – was first manufactured around 20 years ago (though, not with the name classic at the time. It’s still a favorite to this day. Coffee machines tend to stand the test of time for a reason.

Krupp’s are known for continuing the tradition of impressive German engineering – many argue that Krupp’s have, in fact, created the best coffee machine in the world, and even the best espresso machines. It’s a tough challenge to beat – a lot of people feel that true espresso machines need to come from Italy. If anyone can prove otherwise, it’s the Krupp line of machines.
